Antique 1910s Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Enamel Mother of Pearl Tulip Pendant Necklace
A delicate and highly distinctive Arts & Crafts necklace dating to circa the 1910s, crafted in sterling silver and centered by a luminous mother-of-pearl cabochon.
The pendant is designed in the stylized form of a tulip, with elegant scrolling wirework above and sweeping floral shapes surrounding the central nacre. The enamel is especially beautiful: layered blue, turquoise, pale green, light brown and soft white tones blend into one another with the atmospheric quality of a watercolor painting. The softly shifting colors give the piece a wonderfully organic, almost garden-like feeling.
Fine hand-hammered texture on the silver adds depth and catches the light beautifully, while the combination of enamel, mother-of-pearl, pierced silverwork, and Arts & Crafts craftsmanship makes this a very refined and charming example.
The reverse is stamped STERLING SILVER.
Condition: Overall excellent for its age. The enamel is beautifully preserved with no apparent losses, and the pendant retains its delicate detail and original character.
Measurements: Chain measures approximately 44.5 cm when laid flat and fully extended. The pendant measures approximately 6 cm in total length, including the upper suspension and connecting elements; the main pendant body measures approximately 4.2 cm. Maximum width is approximately 3.3 cm.
